An Associate Degree is a degree granted by a college or university after the satisfactory completion of a two-year full-time program of study or its part-time equivalent. Often, if you are attending full-time, an Associate Degree takes approximately two years or four semesters to complete. Types of degrees include the Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS), usually granted after the equivalent of the first two years of a four-year college curriculum, and the Associate in Applied Science (AAS), awarded upon completion of a technical or vocational program of study. Many people choose to undertake an Associate Degree as a step toward earning a higher degree at a four-year university. Associate Degrees are offered by Community Colleges and are often less costly than attending a four-year university. If you choose to pursue an Associate Degree, research your options carefully. There are many colleges and programs to choose from, as well as many different types of degree offerings. By researching thoroughly, you can find the program that suits your needs best. © COPYRIGHT 2006 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED BUSINESS DIRECTORY |
